Full time fixed contract until July 2025 YOUR ROLE In this diverse and rewarding role you will provide support to clients of Homelessness and Housing Services including undertaking case work with homeless persons and/or persons in danger of becoming homeless. You will be joining a supportive and inclusive environment for both our clients and employees. We value teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning to ensure the highest level of care and support for our clients. RESPONSIBILITIES Engage with persons sleeping rough and/or those people in danger of becoming homeless. Conduct initial intakes and assessments. Provide crisis intervention where appropriate. Provide information, resources and support. Advocate on behalf of the client at Government Departments, Courts and other service providers. Undertake home visits with clients located in temporary or transitional accommodation. Create collaborative partnerships with other key stakeholders and services. Attend to the primary needs of clients. Assist and/or supervise a variety of client activities as directed. Where appropriate, develop, support, monitor, review and follow up case plans. Maintain client records and case notes, both electronic and hand written. Meeting service targets as required by the manager, Society and/or external agencies. Manage the flow of clients and visitors in the building. Supervise placement volunteers and students according to their training organisations requirements. Other administrative duties as directed. YOU WILL NEED Minimum TAFE Certificate IV or currently undertaking tertiary study, in welfare or related field. Previous experience providing support to marginalised and vulnerable people. Demonstrated knowledge of issues relating to homelessness including but not limited to family breakdown, mental illness, drug, alcohol and gambling addictions. Demonstrated awareness of appropriate local community support services for homeless clients, including government agencies and NGO’s, and the capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with such service providers. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Sound computer skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Awareness and understanding of the Work Health and Safety legislation and a commitment to promoting safe work practices. Ability to use sound judgement and act appropriately in crisis and emergency situations. NSW driver licence. Recreation & Arts

Edward River is home to the Outback Theatre for Young People, Deniliquin Theatre Company, South West Arts and the South West Music Regional Conservatorium. The Conservatorium provides instrumental and vocal programs for children and adults, as well as hosting regular recitals and fine music concerts by visiting artists.

The region boasts a number of excellent sport and recreational facilities, including Golf and Bowling Clubs, horse racing, and the Deniliquin Sports Stadium which plays host to basketball, indoor netball, cricket, gymnastics and more. Sporting clubs include football, netball, soccer, rugby union, athletics, martial arts, boxing and tennis. Deniliquin also has a skate park, pony club, an outdoor pool open seasonally and an indoor heated pool open year-round.
