About the Role
Join a regional road construction team supporting safe, quality infrastructure works across Hay and surrounding areas.
You will undertake hands-on construction activities, quality checks, site documentation and general labouring while working both independently and within a crew., * Support road construction and maintenance activities.
* Complete works to required quality standards.
* Perform site inspections, measurements and quality checks.
* Maintain accurate safety, quality and construction records.
* Identify and resolve routine site issues.
* Escalate complex issues to relevant supervisors.
* Work safely around live traffic environments.
* Undertake labouring and general construction duties.
* Follow WHS, environmental and safe work procedures.
* Check works against specifications and project requirements.
* Record site information using computers and tablets.
* Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks and team meetings.
* Communicate with crews, contractors and the public.
* Provide practical guidance to team members when required.
* Suggest improvements to safety, quality and productivity.
* Travel to regional worksites when operationally required.

About the Candidate
You are a reliable, safety-focused construction professional comfortable working outdoors and around traffic. You can work independently, contribute to a crew and maintain accurate records while completing practical site duties.
You will ideally have:
* Civil construction, roadworks or maintenance experience.
* Current Construction Industry White Card required
* Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence or higher required
* Current Workers on Foot or ability to obtain before starting.
* Ability to work safely near live traffic.
* Sound WHS and construction safety knowledge.
* Willingness to undertake physical labouring duties.
* Basic construction documentation and record-keeping skills.
* Sound computer and tablet skills.
* Strong attention to quality and detail.
* Ability to follow procedures, specifications and instructions.
* Practical problem-solving skills.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a crew.
* Flexibility to work outside regular hours when required.
* Willingness to travel and occasionally camp away.
* Ability to complete references, ID and Police Check requirements.
* Valid unrestricted Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available. Australian citizens, permanent residents and suitable long-term visa holders are encouraged to apply.
