Coleambally Irrigation Co-operative Limited (CICL) is a world-class irrigation business operating an extensive network of open channels in the Murrumbidgee Valley in the NSW Riverina. CICL operates a modern, highly automated channel control system to quickly and accurately deliver water to its agricultural customers. The Water Operations team is responsible for operating and maintaining this system and is currently seeking an additional Channel Technician.

ABOUT THE JOB:
Are you motivated, wish to work outdoors in a unique technicial position and develop your problem solving skills within a supportive team?
Our job involves the following tasks & responsiblities:
You will monitor channel flow conditions, aquatic weed growth, access conditions and leaks, system alarms and channel supply level trends to identify outages and breakdowns. Undertaking inspections on channel control and metering equipment, including checks for accuracy and preventative maintenance.Diagnose faults and carrying out appropriate repairs for channel control and metering equipment, including with the use of software tools. Determining electrical and mechanical equipment required for ongoing repairs and future installations and maintaining an adequate inventory of parts.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential: Current class C driver’s license, prepared to work outdoors, Work Safely in Construction Industry Certificate (White Card) or a willingness to obtain.Desirable: High School Certificate or equivalent, an understanding of radio communications, WHS certificates, a current class MR driver’s license, an understanding of water distribution in open channel systems, Experience working with 12-48 Volt electrical systems and hand and power tools.
