THE ROLEYou will be responsible for the facilitation of Care Services planning and care options for children within the Child Protection program. Having a clear understanding of the accommodation requirements of children and young people, negotiation skills and ability to work with key internal and external stakeholders is essential to ensure service delivery for children in a Care Services in Ovens Murray. The role of a Senior Accommodation Coordinator is to plan and co-ordinate responses for Care Services for statutory Child Protection clients in line with the Best Interests Practice Framework, provide monitoring and support to existing accommodation to ensure optimum accommodation planning, and take the lead in recommending and planning future directions in Care Services. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE* Undertake and manage active accommodation referrals on behalf of Child Protection for children who need to be placed in Care Services. * Liaise and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of complex client and accommodation issues. * Liaison, negotiation and facilitation with Child Protection, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and Community Service Organisations to ascertain accommodation s based on child(s) needs.
