With support from the Environmental Planners, the Senior Environmental Officer is responsible for environmental impact assessment and the determination of internal environmental approvals.

Qualifications & experience Tertiary qualifications in Science or Environmental Science/Planning or Environmental Management or related discipline. Extensive experience in environmental science/management/planning including senior leadership positions. Post graduate qualifications in related disciplines. Construction Induction Card Tasks & responsibilities Oversee/supervise environmental planning, assessment and approvals function (Part 4 and Part 5 activities under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979). Oversee the environmental advisory service in regards to strategic direction to ensure environmental outcomes underpin AlburyCity's strategies, policies and operating procedures. Provide a first point of contact for technical advice to internal stakeholders on operational matters relating to environmental management and approvals. Oversee/supervise the development and implementation of various environmental strategies and plans, policies and procedures in relation to environmental management. Provide technical expertise and specialist liaison to facilitate cooperation with internal stakeholders, other government agencies, consultants, community groups, developers and the public regarding environmental planning matters.
