The Opportunity: Get the Best of Both Worlds Are you a Research and Insights consultant with 2-5 years experience looking for an opportunity that offers the strategic depth of a client-side role without sacrificing the project variety and development of an agency? We’re looking for a Research and Insights Consultant to step into a unique dual role that offers the best of both worlds: ● Internal client-side partner (ACM) : You'll act as a strategic partner to our diverse commercial, editorial, marketing, and Agri divisions, providing high-quality, strategic guidance. You'll play a key part in high-profile annual studies, including the Heartbeat of Australia research (https://www.canberratimes.com.au/heartbeat/). ● External client-servicing (Australian Regional Insights) : You'll work with external clients through our integrated market research division, Australian Regional Insights, providing access to and insights on rural, regional, and agricultural Australians. (https://www.australianregionalinsights.com.au/). In this role, you will be crucial to supporting strategic decision-making for both ACM and our external clients. What You'll Be Doing: End-to-End Project Ownership Reporting to the Research & Insights Director, you will support in managing research projects from brief through to completion, focusing on full end-to-end project management. Your responsibilities will include: ● Project Leadership: Managing and coordinating all aspects of a research project, including methodology, design, fieldwork, analysis, and reporting. ● Quantitative Expertise: Applying strong proficiency in quantitative methods, including questionnaire design, survey scripting (in Qualtrics), data analysis techniques, and fieldwork preparation. ● Insight Delivery: Designing and delivering engaging, strategic reports and presentations to both internal stakeholders and external clients. ● Qualitative interest: Experience in qualitative methodologies would also be an advantage, particularly in discussion guide development, interview moderation and qualitative analysis techniques. About You You will have come from a market research agency or insights background and are looking for an opportunity to leverage your skills in a client-side role, without losing the development and project variety agency life brings. You’ll have strong organisational skills, and a knack for seeing the story within the data. Ideally, you’ll have: ● 2–5 years’ experience in a market research or insights role ● Strong Project Management skills ● Proficiency in data analysis and insight generation ● A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., market research, business, psychology) ● Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ● Experience with Q Research Software ● Experience or a strong interest in qualitative methodologies.
