Location - This role offers hybrid working arrangements with flexible office locations, as the Executive Director oversees operations across the state. Opportunity through to June 2026, with possibility of extension and Talent Pool creation Clerk Grade: Level 7/8. Base salary $113,574 p.a. to $125,720 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading. Your role This role sits at the centre of complex, fast‑moving issues, supporting senior leaders by delivering clear, accurate and timely advice. You will manage high‑volume and sensitive media, parliamentary and executive enquiries, translating operational information into concise, well‑written responses under pressure. It’s an opportunity to work at the intersection of frontline operations and senior decision‑making, where judgement, clarity and strong relationships really matter. What You’ll Do You will analyse and synthesise information from multiple operational sources, often in time‑critical and high‑pressure situations, exercising strong judgement to determine what information is required, how it should be framed, and what is appropriate to release. This includes drafting high‑quality written responses for media, parliamentary, budget and executive enquiries under tight deadlines. You will also build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders on the ground through to Director‑level, enabling you to quickly clarify issues, resolve inconsistencies, and provide clear, accurate and defensible advice. You will work as part of a collaborative, fast‑paced team that values accuracy, responsiveness and professionalism, operating in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and high‑stakes communication is the norm. What We’re Looking For Exceptional writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, concisely and professionally under pressure Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with sound judgement in determining what information is required and how it should be presented Experience managing sensitive or high‑risk enquiries, including media, parliamentary, executive or similar high‑stakes requests Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, working confidently across operational and senior leadership levelsAn understanding of housing operations and policy is strongly desirable.
