About the Role
As a Mental Health Travel Nurse (Registered Nurse), you will provide high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health care across regional and rural NSW health services. These contracts are ideal for nurses seeking travel nursing jobs in Australia, offering flexibility, strong clinical exposure, and the support of an experienced agency partner.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused mental health nursing care
Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments
Manage acute behavioural disturbances using least-restrictive and trauma-informed practices
Administer and monitor psychotropic and mental health medications
Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NSW Health policies
Work collaboratively with medical officers, allied health, and community services
Locations – Regional New South Wales
Travel Mental Health RN contracts available across regional and rural NSW, including inpatient mental health units, community mental health services, and hospital-based programs.(Flexibility to work across multiple sites is highly valued for travel nurses.)
What you’ll need
Current AHPRA Registration – Registered Nurse (Division 1)
Minimum 1 year recent Mental Health nursing experience
Experience in acute inpatient, community, or ED mental health settings (preferred)
PMVA / MAPA or equivalent (highly desirable for travel roles)
Strong communication, de-escalation, and clinical assessment skills
Australian working rights (non-sponsorship position due to contract timeframe)
