We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced team member to join Council's Workshop Team in providing quality service in the maintenance of Council's motor vehicle fleet, plant and equipment. What we will offer you: One (1) permanent position available; The opportunity to further your career within a progressive Workshop Team; Remuneration package of $2,997.44 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $3,596.93 gross per fortnight + superannuation; Access to Council’s nine (9) day fortnight arrangement; Ongoing training and development opportunities; and Generous leave entitlements. Key responsibilities: Undertake major and minor repairs and maintenance to all Council vehicles, plant and equipment including field service repairs. Assist in ordering parts for vehicles, plant and equipment. Provide advice, training and instruction to vehicle, plant and equipment operators. Operate and maintain specialised workshop facilities, tools and equipment (e.g. welding and oxy equipment etc). Utilise and maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE/C) in accordance with Council standards. Undertake administrative duties relevant to the role including input to the development and implementation of effective maintenance schedules. Participate in the on call roster on a rotational basis. What you will need to succeed: We are looking for someone with: Qualifications relevant to the role e.g. Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (Desirable) Class C Drivers Licence (MR Licence is desirable); and General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card) What is next?
