As we expand, we’re looking for a Irrigation Farm Hand to join us on this exciting journey and play a pivotal role in the future of Rombola Family Farms team based in Nericon, NSW. About the role: The Irrigation Farm Hand will play an essential role in the day-to-day operations of our farm. You will work closely with our experienced team to support various farming activities and maintain our commitment to sustainable agriculture. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about agriculture and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic farm environment. Key accountabilities include: Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated Operate a RTV/Mule. Replaces or repairs irrigation valves. Commissioning of blocks. Regular pressure checks and fixing of leaks on blocks/mainlines. Installs or repairs of irrigation lines. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Performing general labouring duties, such as landscaping, spraying (Knapsack) upkeep of pump sheds. Perform basic recording functions such as pesticide use and water levels. Provide assistance within the scope of this level to other employees as required. Perform daily pre-start checks. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches, as directed by supervisor. Assisting with minor repairs and maintenance of vehicles, assets, and equipment. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Participating in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to horticultural practices and safety procedures. To be successful in the role you will possess the following: High school diploma or equivalent. Willingness to work in various weather conditions. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour. Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and maintenance. Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Eagerness to learn and adapt to farm-specific procedures and practices. Team player who can work effectively with people from different backgrounds. Awareness and ability to adhere to WHS requirements. Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets.
