Wagga Wagga City Council’s Botanic Gardens Team are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for the care and maintenance of gardens and landscapes, enjoys working outdoors and is looking for an active and hands on role.
Permanent full-time position.
Remuneration package of $2,180.38 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,616.46 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

This position will be responsible to:
Undertake gardening duties including establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns; planting; pruning; mowing; tree maintenance; whipper snipping; weeding; irrigation; soil and sediment control; rehabilitation works; chemical application; pest/disease control; maintenance of facilities.
Utilise and maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE/C) in accordance with Council standards.
Complete documentation relevant to the role e.g. standard forms, site safety documentation etc.
As the successful applicant, you will have the following:
Class C Driver’s Licence.
General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
Qualification relevant to the role e.g. Certificate II Horticulture (Desirable).
A genuine interest in the presentation of the Botanic Gardens facilities and a strong focus on Work Health and Safety is essential to the role.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
