The role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electronic Instrument Trades Worker to join their dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you will be integral to maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing the sophisticated electronic and control systems that power their state-of-the-art CNC machinery, including laser cutters, press brakes and automated fabrication lines. Key Responsibilities: Integrating and calibrating new control system components and instrumentation into our CNC laser cutters and fabrication equipment. Proactively troubleshooting automation networks, PLCs, and servo systems to identify and rectify complex electrical and electronic faults. Executing detailed preventative maintenance schedules on industrial control panels, motor drives, and sensor arrays to ensure continuous operational efficiency. Interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to safely perform system upgrades and component replacements. Collaborating with our workshop engineers to optimise machine performance, enhance system functionality, and reduce cycle times. Providing technical guidance and support to the operations team on the correct use and basic troubleshooting of equipment. Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all maintenance and repair activities. Requirements: Certificate III, Certificate IV or higher qualification At least two (2) years of experience as an Electronic Instrument Trades Worker Experience in automated Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical equipment/systems Proficient in electrical, mechanical, and robotic control systems Skilled in using diagnostic tools for machinery testing and fault diagnosis Experienced with automated systems including laser cutters and CNC processes Background in maintenance, repair, and replacement of system components Able to interpret technical documents and create 2D/3D designs Strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
