About the Role
Join our team as a casual Disability Support Worker in Albury, where you'll provide tailored, person-centred care to individuals living with disability. We have vacancies in both our Supported Independent Living and Lifestyle Programs.
The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so, successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include behaviours of concern, high medical needs, high intensity daily personal activities and heavy hoisting and manual handling.
The successful candidate must be able to commit to a variety of casual shifts including early morning starts from 6am, short split shifts in our Lifestyles program and active night shifts across a 7-day roster.
Key Responsibilities
Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
Provide support with High Intensity daily personal activities
Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
Maintain thorough record keeping
Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
Advocate for client choice and control
Assist with peg feeding and catheter care, focusing on comfort and safety, with training available for those new to the tasks
Skills & Experience
Experience working with people with disability
Previous experience working behaviours of concern
Prior experience working with high medical needs
Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks, including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
