The Employer Our clients run a family-owned sheep and broadacre cropping station, irrigating 1,500 hectares of land with a rotation of summer crops, such as cotton and corn, as well as winter cereals and pastures. They aim to help team members develop their skills and reach their full potential alongside the business.The Role Our clients are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join their team as a Cropping Manager. In this role, you will report to the Farm Manager and lead a team of 1 to 2 full-time employees, along with casual staff during busier periods.You will be responsible for organising the staff to complete day-to-day activities related to producing summer and winter crops and pastures. This includes tasks such as soil preparation, sowing, irrigation, spraying, harvesting, and maintaining all related equipment. Additionally, you will be involved in crop management and will implement programs for nutrition, pest control, disease management, irrigation, and soil health.Your responsibilities will also encompass commercial and budget management, labour planning, operational leadership, and stakeholder engagement. You will need to ensure compliance and maintain accurate records.Effective communication is essential, as you will collaborate with the Farm Manager, consultants, staff, contractors, and agronomists to align technical and business priorities, all while adhering to WHS regulations and budgetary guidelines.The Offer This amazing opportunity offers a competitive salary based on experience including a work vehicle and a well-maintained three-bedroom cottage with a garden and garage. They must maintain a pleasant tone with all stakeholders, actively participate in team meetings, and seek advice when needed. Building rapport, collaborating to achieve shared goals, and effectively resolving conflicts are also essential. Additionally, the candidate should possess the following attributes: Possess experience in broadacre cropping programs, financial budgeting, and leadership.
