Responsibilities & Duties : • Plan, organise, and prepare food in accordance with the restaurant’s menu specifications, portion control requirements, and established quality standards.• Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items including gourmet pizzas, grilled meats, burgers, pastas, sides, and specialty dishes using commercial kitchen equipment such as pizza ovens, grills, fryers, and preparation stations.• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes to maintain brand standards and customer satisfaction.• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service periods, allocating duties and ensuring smooth workflow during busy trading hours.• Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stocktakes, and place orders with approved suppliers to maintain adequate inventory levels.• Ensure proper food storage, stock rotation (FIFO), and temperature control in compliance with Australian food safety standards and HACCP guidelines.• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and food preparation areas, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.• Assist in menu development, cost control, and waste minimization strategies to support business profitability.• Train and guide junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.• Perform additional duties as required by management to support efficient kitchen operations and uphold the reputation of Smokin Joe’s Pizza & Grill.To be successful in this role, it is essential you have:• Mandatory: Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.• Preferred/Advantageous: Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, or any equivalent overseas qualification.Minimum over 2 years of relevant industry experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a fast-paced pizza and grill environment.• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and workplace health and safety regulations.• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.• Proven creativity, passion for food, and commitment to high-quality service.• Excellent teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
