Taco Bill's Cantina, based in Albury, NSW is a restaurant, which serves Mexican food and is known as Australia’s original Mexican restaurants. Currently Taco Bill's Cantina at Albury have a full-time vacancy for a Chef role. Key Responsibilities and Duties: • Participates in the preparation, cooking and presentation of all menu items with an attention to detail and adherence to standards as per Taco Bill Australia guidelines. • Preparing food meeting the highest standard and final plating using the correct plate presentation technique. • Ensuring all the portion and amount are correct and food is of the highest standard to meet the customer’s expectation as per Taco Bill Australia guidelines. • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients per recipes. • Monitor the kitchen staff during pre-cooking preparations such as washing, trimming, carving, chopping, peeling, cutting, stirring, mixing, as when required. • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of food preparation, food presentation and ensuring the food is of high quality. • Ordering food supplies. • Discussing food preparation issues with Manager and other kitchen staff. • Using different recipes accurately and preparing the food using different kitchen equipment’s and tools. • Demonstrating advanced techniques and advising on cooking procedures. • Time to time, train new staff. • Must be able to show strong organizational skills. • Managing the organization of all stock and stock control for the venue.• Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met. • Plan staff rosters.• Maintaining proper refrigeration and storage of food.• Work in a team-oriented environment and under demanding condition. • Receiving and organizing deliveries.• Maintaining the food quality and cleanliness.• Upholding food safety and hygiene standards.• Cleaning and organizing the kitchen and stock holding areas. • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety and Food Hygiene procedures. Hours of work: This is a full-time role where the successful applicant will be expected to work at least 38 hours per week. The shifts required to be worked may vary from time to time. Qualifications/Education An associate degree OR an advanced diploma OR a diploma of hospitality is required for this Chef position. At least 3 years of industry experience as a chef may be substituted for the formal qualifications. Experience • A good work history and relevant work experience as a chef is required.
