About the Role Due to a recent promotion, we have an opportunity to join our Team at Carringbah Farms as Assistant Farm Manager, You’ll work closely with the Farm Manager to lead day-to-day farming operations. This hands-on leadership role spans everything from crop production planning and equipment management to team supervision and safety leadership.
You’ll be involved in all stages of broadacre cropping — from paddock preparation and sowing to spraying, harvest and grain logistics — ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to Altora Ag’s high standards.
You’ll also play a key part in mentoring operators and seasonal staff, fostering a collaborative and respectful culture on farm.
Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and implementing the annual cropping program in consultation with agronomy and operations teams.
Operate and maintain modern farm machinery, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely execution of operations.
Support and lead farm employees and contractors, promoting teamwork, accountability and continual skill development.
Ensure all WHS, environmental and operational procedures are adhered to through visible leadership and example.
Participate in farm reporting, input monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and the local community, representing Altora Ag with professionalism.
About You You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
At least 3 years’ experience in broadacre cropping operations.
Proven skill operating and maintaining large, modern machinery with GPS technology.
ChemCert certification (or willingness to obtain).
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
A practical understanding of WHS principles and environmental stewardship.
A passion for continuous improvement and innovation in modern agriculture.
Current driver’s licence (truck, loader or forklift tickets highly regarded).
