Making a Country Change to Junee

Families Grow Closer and Careers Blossom in Superbly Located Junee

Imagine having the opportunity to take the next step in your career. Would you take it, or would you be about worried the impact it might have on your family? This in a reasonable concern for people living in the city, but things are very different when you make the country change. Lawyer, Nick Wood left his previous job in January 2017, before moving to Junee and opening the doors to his very own law firm just five months later. Nick and his wife Jessica took the amazing opportunity to start a business in a growing town, so that they could enjoy their dream lifestyle with their young kids. Nick can work from his new home in Junee, but if he does want to go to his business in Wagga Wagga, it’s an easy drive. ‘I know it’s going to be 30 minutes, so I never have to stress,’ said Nick.

Halfway between Melbourne and Sydney, and flanked by rolling hills and the Murrumbidgee River, Junee offers an attractive, yet affordable lifestyle. ’You don’t really lose access to anything you get in the city,’ said Nick. Junee locals have access to great schools, colleges and universities, as well as well-equipped hospitals, many community groups and fantastic recreational facilities. In fact, life in a country town has even more to offer than city living, according to the Wood’s. ‘There’s much more of a community,’ said Nick. ‘People get to know you, and you get to know the people. They even get to know your kids, so it’s quite family oriented.’ According to Jessica, ‘the kids can’t get this living in a city because it’s just too big and they get absorbed.’

For Nick, moving to Junee has not only given him the opportunity to advance his career, but it’s also enabled him to do so without making any sacrifices to his family life. He and Jessica are now living their dream, stress-free lifestyle, and are excited for their young kids to grow up in such a vibrant and supportive community. ‘You could never convince us to leave, and we’d tell anyone who’s thinking about making the country change to take the chance.’

Police Inspector, Rob Vergano and his wife Kirsty were also attracted by the affordability of land in Junee, and the whole family loves their six-acre property. After selling their 480sqm block in Wollongong, the Vergano family moved to Junee in April 2017. ’We were after a tree change,’ said Rob, ‘and we haven’t looked back since.’ With a median house price $219,500, it’s easy to see how life in Junee could be a dream come true for young families.

The Vergano’s have found life in Junee to be far more relaxed. ‘We get to hang out a lot more as a family’ said Kirsty. ‘It’s been really good and brought everyone closer,’ added Rob. The girls love to play outside all day, riding their motorbikes and looking after their adorable poddy calf, while their eldest daughter has developed an unbridled passion for anything and everything about horses.
